How to Make the Tastiest Irish Corned Beef and Cabbage — Easy Slow Cooker Recipe

The delightful flavors of Irish Corned Beef and Cabbage

- 3-4 pounds of corned beef brisket

- 1 onion, peeled and cut into wedges

- 4-6 small red potatoes, quartered

- 4 carrots, peeled and cut into chunks

- 1 small head of cabbage, cut into wedges

- 4 cups of water or beef broth

- 1 tablespoon of pickling spice (included with the corned beef)

1. Begin by rinsing the corned beef brisket under cold water to remove excess brine. Pat it dry with paper towels.

2. Place the onion wedges, potatoes, and carrots in the bottom of a slow cooker, creating a bed for the corned beef.

3. Lay the corned beef brisket on top of the vegetables. Sprinkle the pickling spice packet that comes with the corned beef over the brisket.

4. Pour water or beef broth over the corned beef to cover it.

5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 7-8 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily pierced with a fork.

6. Around 3 hours before serving, add the cabbage wedges to the slow cooker, nestled around the corned beef. Continue cooking until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.

7. Once everything is cooked to perfection, remove the corned beef and vegetables from the slow cooker. Let the meat rest for a few minutes before slicing it against the grain.

8. Serve the sliced corned beef with the vegetables and a ladle of the cooking liquid as a delectable broth.

This easy slow cooker recipe will fill your home with the comforting aromas of a traditional Irish meal. Enjoy the tender corned beef, flavorful vegetables, and hearty broth as you savor the taste of a classic dish that's perfect for St. Patrick's Day or any cozy evening. Sláinte!
